Glass Lined Steel Unvented Cylinders are less expensive than Copper Unvented Cylinders. The constant expansion and contraction of copper during heating and cooling of domestic water greatly reduces the "life" of a copper cylinder. Pressure reducing valves are not required on a Glass Lined Cylinder, as it operates at up to 10 Bar pressure. Thus allowing the full volume of water to reach the taps and showers. This avoids a fall off in pressure if a second or third tap is turned on simultaneously.
A wholly Irish-owned company, Lycris Byrne has been involved in the evolution and manufacture of cost-effective hot & cold water storage systems and associated products for over twenty years.
The copper tanks range in size from 1 gallon to 300 gallon capacity and from 1 bar to 3 bar operating pressure, suitable for open expansion. The type of copper cylinder varies from Direct to Indirect, Dual Coil and Triple Coil and may be insulated or painted according to customer specification.
