Notes
- Open the file cattletest.htm in your Web Browser (Netscape
Navigator or MS Internet Explorer).
- Bookmark the file so that in future you can simply
use the Bookmark.
- You may then enter cattle details offline.
- If you require to enter more than 3 cows at once, simply
open more browser windows clicking on the MS Internet Explorer or Netscape
icon again.
- You may now use the Bookmark you have created to open
the file again.
- Open another browser window as above for each subsequent
3 cows you wish to trace.
- Animal movements are recorded in pairs. For each "off
location" movement there should be a corresponding "onto location"
movement. Thus the list boxes in the Movement Type Column are alternated
between Off Location and Onto Location. You will need to know the CPH
number of the farm or market you moved the animals to for the Onto Location
Section.
- Teal coloured columns are Mandatory
(Man). Olive coloured columns provide extra
information. If you have electronic IDs or a Lot Ref Numbers you should
fill these in their respective columns.
- This form is for UK Eartags only so the first two letters
of the Eartag number are pre-specified as "UK". Non-UK Eartags
must be specified on a separate form.
- Put the Caps Lock key on so that all data typed in
is in UPPER CASE.
- The Eartag number is split into 2 fields in the form.
- The Number of Spaces between "UK" and the
1st Part of the Eartag Number must be specified correctly in the first
input column (column 3). There may be no spaces, one, two or up to three
spaces. As the UK is already specified you only need to fill in the
correct number of spaces and then the characters.
- The 1st Part of the Eartag Number must consist of a
combination of Spaces, Upper Case Letters and/or Digits 6 characters
long in total (column 3).
- The 1st and 2nd Part of the Eartag Number are always
separated by one space and so there is no column for this element of
the Eartag Number.
- The 2nd Part of the Eartag Number must be a combination
of Digits and/or Upper Case letters no more that 5 characters long (column4).
- If you supply an Electronic ID Number it must be 15
digits long (column 5).
- The Ref. Number may be the unique reference number
given to an animal by a livestock market, abbatoir etc. making it easier
to trace, and must between 1 and 10 characters long (column 6).
- Your Location Identity (or CPH number) refers to the
location to which the movement relates and must be 2 digits followed
by 3 digits followed by 4 digits (column 7). Movements onto Abattoirs
cannot be traced here.
- Herd Suffix is for separate herds kept at the same
location and must be 2 digits long (e.g. 01) (column 8).
- Movement Type reports the type of movement e.g. onto
location or off location (column 9).
- Make sure that you set the date of the movement correctly.
Do not forget to choose the correct date in the list box.
- Please take care. Inappropriate use of this service
will mean that we can no longer make it freely available.
